In less than 9 days, the Cleveland Browns will be selecting their two first round draft picks.
This is the second consecutive year in which they have two first rounders . The Cleveland Browns need some home run hits in first round, after the underwhelming year with Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel. But what do the Browns have in their sleeves this year?
Here is my mock draft for what the Browns will need to do to have a successful draft.
With the twelve pick in the 2015 NFL draft the Cleveland Browns select....
1(12). DeVante Parker, Wide Receiver, Louisville
The Browns signed Dwayne Bowe and Brian Hartline in free agency, but both are no better than a #2 receiver. DeVante Parker is big, tall and athletic receiver standing at 6-3 and weighs 209. In my opinion, he has the most upside of any top receiver in the draft.
Notes:
Ran a 4.45 40
Missed first seven games of his senior year
Caught 43 passes for 855 yards
1(19). Alvin "Bud" Dupree, OLB, Kentucky
It is uncertain were Dupree will land, but a team will get a steal. Dupree is a versatility and athletic kid. He's 6-4 and 269 pounds. He ran better than people expected at 4.56.
Notes:
23.5 career sacks at Kentucky
Was a team captain
2. Jordan Phillip, DT, Oklahoma
The Browns defensive line is extremely underrated. They had many injuries last year, and they couldn't rebound. Phillips is a huge dude at 6-5 and 329 pounds. He reminds me of a you'd Phil Taylor.
Notes:
Ran a 5.17 40
Only started 17 games at Oklahoma
3. A.J Can, G, Florida State
The Browns need depth at lineman, add it here.
4(111). Tyler Lockett
The Browns had a glaring need at kick returner and punt returner. They get the speedy Lockett to fill the need.
4(115). Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State
The Browns don't necessarily need a Tight End after the signing of Rob Housler, but they need depth.
5. Brandon Bridge, QB, South Alabama
The Browns grab a QB to compete with Johnny and McCown.
